One-Minute Vegan Chocolate Hazelnut Milk

Vegan Chocolate Hazelnut Milk

For when the cravings come! This One-Minute Vegan Hazelnut Chocolate Milk is my go to for when I fancy something sweet but healthy. I alternate between this and my Chocolate Collagen Almond Milk pretty much everyday. What can I say? Us woman need our cacao fix!

Don’t forget to add a pinch of salt. It really brings out the chocolate flavour and is delicious. You can also experiment with adding 1/2 – 1 tsp of vanilla powder or cinnamon as well if you like.

How to add extra nutrients to this easy Vegan Chocolate Hazelnut Milk

Probiotics – add 1 tsp or 2 – 3 capsules of probiotics for an easy way to help keep your gut health in check. Go for a multi- strain biotic and with a decent CFU strain. I normally take at least 25bn CFUs per capsule.

Collagen – if you’re not vegan you can add 3 – 4 tbsp of either marine collagen or bovine collagen to this chocolate milk. It also helps make it thicker and frothier! Vital Proteins (I buy mine at Planet Organic here in the UK) and Ancient and Brave True Collagen Powder are my favorites.

Collagen is great for hair, skin, joints and cartilage. If you are vegan there are various plant collagen builders on the market but i’m not convinced they’re really collagen, or just enjoy this healthy Chocolate Hazelnut Milk on it’s own!

INGREDIENTS

  • 600 ml hazelnut milk (I like Plenish)
  • 1 heaped tbsp raw cacao (I like Naturya)
  • 1 tbsp hazelnut or almond butter (I like Meridian)
  • Pinch of Pink Himalayan or sea salt
  • 3 tsp coconut sugar or maple syrup, or to taste (or or 1.5 tsp maple Lakankto for a keto alternative (optional)

Method

  • Place all the ingredients in a high speed blender like a Vitamix or NutriBullet and blitz until smooth and frothy. Alternatively, place in a large glass jug and blend with a hand blender.

NOTES

  • For a low carb alternative, you can try 1.5 tsp Lakanto maple or 3 tsp of erythritol, Swerve or 5 - 10 drops of liquid stevia, or to taste.
  • For a thicker milk and if you prefer not to use a sweetener, you can add 1 small banana instead or if you're hardcore like me you can leave out a sweetener altogether!
