Frappe’s are traditionally a drink served with ice as a slushy. Commonly made from coffee and more often than not loaded with sugar and cream. Today i’m taking the frappe to a healthy new level by ditching not only the coffee but also the cream and and sugar. This Berry Frappe is made with just frozen berries, almond milk and a little coconut yoghurt making it low in fructose so great for those of you following a Keto / Paleo diet or on a gut healing protocol like the Gaps Diet or Whole 3o.
Why is this Berry Frappe good for your gut health?
You guys know i’m all about gut health and looking after your good bacteria, so i’ve pimped up this Berry Frappe with some probiotic goodness! I used this Multi-Strain Probiotic from Wild Nutrition because it doesn’t contain FOS. I hunted high and low for a probiotic that doesn’t contain the prebiotic FOS because for many of us with compromised gut health FOS can actually cause a lot of bloating, so be mindful of this when choosing your probiotic.
I like Wild Nutrition because it’s a high strength formula of 8 strains of beneficial bacteria, with a minimum of 30 billion colony forming units (CFU) in each dose. It’s also gluten free and doesn’t contain soy or preservatives. I haven’t been sponsored to promote this product guys, it’s one I bought recently and thought you might be interested to know about.
This Keto Berry Frappe is so easy to make, simply chuck it all in a Vitamix or high speed blender and whiz away. Vegan friendly if you ensure your probiotic is vegan.
