This Creamy Vegan Tomato Sauce Pasta is just so delicious. It’s the ideal weeknight dinner recipe; tasty, wholesome, quick and easy. I loved vegan-ising classic pasta dishes, this tomato pasta is tangy, rich and creamy, and full of all the good stuff. Sometimes, you just can’t beat the simple recipes.

For my take on this creamy tomato pasta dish, I opted for ZENB yellow split pea pasta. It’s gluten and grain free, and a healthier choice than the standard white pasta. This pasta alternative is high in protein, iron, potassium and dietary fibre, all whilst being a much greener and planet friendly option.
Of course, you can use regular gluten free pasta if you’re gluten intolerant or if regular white pasta works for you – go for it! Equally, if going gluten or grain free is not a concern for you, brown wholewheat pasta is a great healthy swap, as well as protein fortified wheat pasta.
A sprinkle of fresh basil leaves is always such a great way to finish off a pasta dish. Serve this creamy tomato pasta with some fresh basil for a zingy pop of colour and flavour that will really compliment the sauce too.
You can never go wrong with some vegan parmesan shavings either. Feel free to use whatever cheese alternative you prefer, or an extra sprinkling of nutritional yeast instead. I opted for the vegan parmesan as its strong flavour and light melt-in-the-mouth texture just finishes off this dish perfectly.
There’s also always the option to throw in some extra protein, especially if thats the main focus of your diet. This pasta dish would pair wonderfully with tofu, tempeh, or even some crispy chickpeas. Alternatively, you could throw in some chicken or prawns if you’re not plant-based.
Whether you choose to go with all the finishing touches, or none, this creamy vegan tomato pasta is delicious on its own or paired with a protein of your choice.
Creamy Vegan Tomato Pasta
- 1 batch Creamy Vegan Tomato Sauce
- 2 g pasta of choice I used ZENB yellow Split Pea Penne
- Fresh basil
- 2 tbsp grated vegan parmesan (optional)
- Prepare the Creamy Vegan Tomato Sauce as per my recipe.
- Cook the pasta as per the packet instructions. Drain + rinse.
- Toss dressing through pasta and warm a little in the pan.
- Top with chopped fresh basil, cracked black pepper and optional vegan parmesan.
